I think the characteristics of the ideal indicator should be as follows:

• Minimal lag.
• Plot an early clear indication of when a change of direction begins.
• Give an early indication if the move is strong enough to be profitable.
• Utilize longer term data when trading shorter term data .

I realized that one indicator would not suffice to accomplish all of the above stated goals, so I created five unique indicators for discretionary trading that, when used together, fulfill my idea of the ideal indicator.
